Monster Adventure Terrain

A few weeks back the gang from Monster Gaming got a hold of me about a new terrain project they were working on. According to their Kickstarter page:

Monster Adventure Terrain is the world’s first fully modular and AFFORDABLE 3D world-building system for Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop games. Our pieces are specially designed so you can construct and reconstruct your game worlds in an instant. With the “snap on” system, all you have to do is “click” your pieces into place. This makes constructing and deconstructing your game worlds easy and allows you to build your dungeons, taverns, castles, and caverns in minutes. Best of all, it won’t cost you all of your gold and copper coins to afford it!

The MG crew was kind enough to send me a prototype set of their dungeon/castle set to try out in my home game.

The pieces resemble Duplo blocks, and work just as easy. If you’re unfamiliar with Duplos, they are just oversized Legos designed for toddlers. The Adventure Terrain pieces snap on top of each other or onto the transparent 12 x 12 base.

Unlike other 3D terrain sets Ive tested in the past, this is the easiest to assemble, and the easiet to take apart. Additionally,  the set pieces you assemble stay together and can be moved easily without falling apart. Sets start at $30 and go as high as $4,400.

Sets details:

Monster Adventure Terrain is much more than basic building blocks. These fully modular pieces are also available as 7 different unique terrain tile styles, castle pieces (like ramparts and battlements), detailed cavern pieces (mountain sides, stone formations and stalagmites), and special accessories like bridges, doors, stairs, ladders and more! And remember, these are available in painted and unpainted versions.

Stretch goals unlocked:

  • Stackable Baseplates
  • Loot boxes

The Monster Adventure Terrain Kickstarter funded in 24 hours and continues until Thu, June 20 2019 11:00 AM CDT.
